some computers, the database was not installed correctly. This caused an
"application error" at startup. In Diver-Office 2.0, a new type
of database is used. This will result in a more robust installation.
-
Diver-Office
would crash when launched using an account with Window's Guest privileges.
This situation is now handled and detailed instructions on granting
restricted users access to Diver-Office can be found in the User's Manual
(.PDF)
-
Diver-Pocket
now validates the pressure range and units when reading Diver settings, to
ensure Diver information is valid.
-
When
viewing exported CSV files in Microsoft Excel, the date/time column did
not show the date and time values properly by default, and cell formatting
was required by the user. Exported CSV files have been modified so that
when opened in Excel, the date and time fields are shown in the correct
format.
Additions to the Documentation
The on-line
documentation for Diver-Office is as complete as possible.
However,
for production purposes, the documentation was prepared prior to the final
build of Diver-Office. As a result, there may be some differences between the
program and the documentation due to last minute changes to the interface or
functionality. For the most recent updates, please refer to the on-line help,
which is available in the Help menu.
Known Issues
Although
every reasonable effort has been made to fix any known problems with the
software, there are some issues with the software we were not able to fix
before the program was released. These remaining issues will not affect
the results of the simulation in any way, but they do affect your ability to
use the software. We are working towards the elimination of these
problems, and we will be posting patch installation programs to the ftp site
from time to time so you can update your program. However, in the
meantime, it is important for you to know about the issues that may affect the
performance of the software and your ability to use it effectively. These
issues are documented below:
-
When a
second users opens Diver-Office and accesses the same database as the first user
is now handled by an appropriate error message.
-
The
water levels in an NITG file are rounded down numbers. For example, if the
calculated water level is 1202.8 cm the water level in the NITG file is
1202 cm.
-
While
starting a Diver upon the first time and Future Start is selected, the
Diver might start immediately.
-
If
a Diver that contains invalid information is read, and you cancel the
window that appears without selecting an option, you will not be able to
read the Diver anymore. You must first close and reopen Diver-Office, and
try again.
-
Diver-Office
may not be able to read old Divers properly. This is because older Divers
may contain invalid data or a lack of information. When this is the case,
Diver-Office will prompt you to select the appropriate Diver from a list,
so that the right Diver information is stored in the database.
-
When
the settings of a Diver programmed with a pumptest are read and there is a
pumptest stored in Diver-Office then the pumptest in the Diver is assigned
the name of the pumptest stored in Diver-Office even if these pumptest are
not equal.
-
If
the conductivity calibration of the CTD-Diver (DI27x) is aborted the
memory of the CTD-Diver might contain a few (1..4) readings taken during
the calibration. These conductivity readings are zero.
-
If
a barometric monitoring point does not contain time series data the error
message in the log file is not accurate.
-
If
a Diver (models DI212 through DI250) has the status "future
started", the time stamp of the actual reading is invalid (in the
future, i.e. the time of the first measurement).
-
Some
text that appears in the user interface may be truncated when using
Windows 7 font size of 125% or higher.
-
If
the CTD-Diver calibration is set back to the factory settings it will only
shown this in the calibration history once the CTD-Diver has been started.
This behaviour is identical to a normal calibration.
-
In
Graph Settings Title if selecting option None no text will be shown in 2 left drop-down lists.
-
Importing
an OTD-Diver DAT file results in an error message followed by an
application error.
-
The translation of the Polish Help is incomplete and contains English text.
-
The monitoring point names are always converted to lower case characters.
-
If the database file is not shared properly the error message
"ApplicationController.ApplicationController()Access
to the path 'C:\...\DiverOffice\WHI.sdf' is denied"
will appear
while starting Diver-Office.
The database in Diver-Office is shared among the users of the computer
Diver-Office is installed on. All users must be granted read/write access
to the database.
- Login as an administrator and located the database WHI.sdf file. This
file is by default located in C:\ProgramData\DiverOffice (Windows
7) or C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\DiverOffice
(Windows XP).
- Right-click on the file and select Properties. In the window that
appears select the Security tab.
- Click the Edit
button and a new window will open.
- Select the Group or user names that you want to grant access to the
database.
- Check the checkbox Allow for Full control and click OK.
Now the users in the group Users will have access to the database.
