Measuring recharge in an effluent dominated ephemeral river in Southern Arizona

In this study our client, Tucson Water, used the Diver-NETZ technology to measure recharge in an effluent dominated ephemeral river in Southern Arizona. The challenge was to get high frequency head measurements in the stream. A temporary Diver installation was setup in the stream dominated by effluent discharge and monsoon flow. The goal was to gain insight into recharge rates. The Diver-NETZ system used monitor surface water levels to simulate a falling head test and determine the infiltration rate. The Divers in combination with the wireless Diver-NETZ system made it possible to effectively monitor the surface water levels in a river with highly variable flow conditions.
